Whether it is the first match of th season or you have a “big” tournament ahead, you can start to feel your nerves build the closer you get to the first round. What once seemed like a great idea filled with excitement, is now an event overflowing with angst, anxiety and stress.
The good news is that nothing has gone wrong. This is how the brain rolls. It is designed to warn you when you are in danger. While playing in a golf tourney doesn’t create physical danger, there is a potential emotional threat. This is enough to create a lot of mental chatter and nerves.
